Emma Stone And Andrew Garfield In 2015: Did Couple Break Up Or What?
Did they, or didn’t they? Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield possibly broke up after three years of dating. Confusion emerged after there were varying reports about the status of their relationship -- some sites claim the couple is finished, and others say it’s just a “break.”
One of the things that has led to their temporary split is distance. Garfield is in Taiwan filming Martin Scorsese’s flick “Silence.” The role, where he portrays a Jesuit priest, has taken a toll on the actor. “He's lost weight, and he's in a dark place mentally for his performance and he's not boyfriend material right now,” a source told Us Weekly. “He’s very in his character.”
“He’s thrown himself in the project to the detriment of all else,” a different insider told People magazine. “But it’s too early to say the relationship is over.”
Stone, 26, recently portrayed Sally Bowles in “Cabaret” on Broadway in New York City and understands the stress Garfield, 31, is experiencing. "Emma understands his work anxieties -- it's why she originally pulled out of Cabaret last year and only did it this year-- but they're taking a break from seeing each other," the source told People mag. "They're both a slave to their schedules. This time last year they were privately discussing marriage.”
There’s a chance they could get back together. “They are just separated for work,” a different source told People magazine. “Andrew is overseas. They are both busy with their careers and have not seen each other.”
Even though distance seems to be the main problem, the couple is not calling it a “break” and they remain on good terms, E! News wrote.
Neither of the “Amazing Spider-Man” co-stars have confirmed the rumor, even though it has been widely reported. Gossip about the nature of their relationship first arose when Stone attended the 2015 winter awards season solo, even though she was nominated for multiple awards for her work in “Birdman.”
