Emma Watson, Dan Stevens Appear In 'Beauty And The Beast' Set Photo; Josh Gad Shares Picture On Instagram
Looks like this fairytale story is one step closer to coming to life. On Tuesday, "Beauty and the Beast" star Josh Gad posted an enchanted photo on Instagram from the set of the upcoming live-action Disney film. The picture gives viewers a glimpse at the cast -- and more specifically, a first look at Emma Watson and Dan Stevens together. The two actors will take on the lead roles of Belle and the Beast in the upcoming romantic movie, scheduled for release on March 17, 2017.
“Can’t wait for you to be our guest,” the “Frozen” actor captioned the adorable snapshot of himself along with his co-stars Stevens, Watson, Luke Evans and Kevin Kline. The five actors will be taking on the beloved, non-furniture roles of from the 1991 Walt Disney Feature Animation: Lefou, the Beast, Belle, Gaston and Belle’s father, Maurice.
There are, however, a few important mugs missing from this magical image, including Emma Thompson, who will take on the motherly role of Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw who will be channeling her inner, sexy feather duster as Plumette, Audra McDonald who will portray Garderobe and Sir Ian McKellen who will be starring as Cogsworth.
According to Variety, production for the anticipated fantasy flick will begin this year. That means fans of the 23-year-old fairytale should keep their eyes peeled for more behind-the-scenes images to leak from the set of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Watson previously shared her excitement for the adaptation of the Disney film when she sat down with “Total Film” in January.
“I’ve never had to [sing] for a film before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very differently like that,” the British actress, who also holds the title of UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, shared. “It gives me a different challenge, really. That’s terrifying and of itself!”
