Reality star Chris Pearson, who was known for being among the first contestants on the MTV show “Ex on the Beach,” in the wee hours of Sunday following a stabbing incident in Los Angeles. He was 25.

Pearson got into a squabble on Sunday morning while in the San Fernando Valley area, north of LA., according to TMZ. The other person involved in the altercation allegedly stabbed him and fled the scene. Pearson was subsequently taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 3:30 a.m.

A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the news, saying a 25-year-old male named Christopher Westley Pearson was discovered at the 22100 block of Erwin Street at 2:10 a.m. The police reported that Pearson “became involved in a verbal argument with the suspect” and during the argument, “the suspect produced a weapon and stabbed the victim.”

The police did not provide any description for the suspect, who fled to an unknown location following the incident. However, an investigation of the case is underway as the police already have leads, TMZ reported.

In the wake of Pearson’s death, fans and friends have flocked the comments section of his final Instagram post to pay final tributes to him. One of them was “Teen Mom” star Taylor Selfridge, who described his sudden passing as “heartbreaking.”

A GoFundMe account describing Pearson’s death as being “a tragic encounter” was also created.

“Chris was the most determined person there could ever be,” the description of the account reads. “He had a dream, set a goal & didn’t stop until he achieved that goal. It didn’t matter what or who he lost on the way, he made sure he had his eye on one thing and one thing only. His smile lit up an entire room. The only other thing that Chris loved more than his music was his family and friends. All Chris wanted was to make it far in life to help his family and make them proud. Chris was taken from us way too soon.”

Pearson appeared in 11 episodes of the first season of “Ex on the Beach” and was also a professional DJ.
