Fall TV Premiere Dates: ‘NCIS,’ ‘This Is Us’ Start Tuesday, Sept. 26
TV season is in full swing, so schedule your DVR carefully. There are many fall TV dramas, comedies and reality shows starting on Tuesday.
Longtime fans will be happy to see the NCIS teams are back on CBS again. “NCIS” Season 15 will kick off with the team searching for Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and McGee (Sean Murray). They’ve been missing for two months. Meanwhile, the “NCIS: New Orleans” team will be handling a case involving stolen nuclear waste without Pride (Scott Bakula), who is still on probation after taking down a corrupt mayor.
Last year’s breakout TV hit “This Is Us” also returns to NBC on Sept. 26. The drama will once again start off with the Big Three sharing their birthday. Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) are considering adoption in Season 2 while Kevin (Justin Hartley) tries to balance his new movie with maintaining his long distance romance. However, it’s Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) that everone really wants to know about. They’ll be dealing with the aftermath of their fight, and the cause of Jack’s death will be revealed this year.
Fans of real crime stories will want to tune in to “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders,” which premieres right after “This Is Us.” Edie Falco plays attorney Leslie Abramson, who decides to defend Erik (Gus Halper) and Lyle Menendez (Miles Gaston Villanueva) after they’re accused of killing their own parents. NBC’s eight episode series is based on the 1996 case.
Comedy lovers, however, can tune in to Fox. “The Mick” Season 2 premiere will show Mickey (Kaitlin Olson) having trouble dealing with the fact that the kids don’t have unlimited funds anymore.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Season 5 will premiere afterwards, and Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) will still be in jail after being framed. Jake will quickly make friends and join a prison gang, but Rosa goes will be getting Holt (Andre Braugher) and Terry (Terry Crews) to do her some favors. It’s up to Amy (Melissa Fumero) and Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) to prove Jake and Rosa’s innocence.
A couple reality TV shows are starting Tuesday as well. VH1’s “90’s House” will force 12 millennials to live without their smartphones as they compete in 90s themed challenges. The winner scores $90,000, a Mazda Miata and a trip on a cruise. Elsewhere, “Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge” on CMT returns to pit new athletes against the wrestler’s personal obstacle course in the hope of winning $10,000.
