'Fast And Furious 9' Character Posters Released, Trailer Drop Announced

Character posters of “Fast and Furious 9” have been released online. Lead cast member Vin Diesel, who is reprising his role as Dominic Toretto, has also announced that the trailer of the film will be releasing this weekend.

All the main actors, including the newcomer to the franchise John Cena, got their respective character posters that have been released on the official Facebook page of the franchise. Details about Cena’s character have yet to be announced, but the poster shows he will be driving a blue car.

Each character can be seen standing in front of their respective vehicles with different colored smoke rising in the background. Dominic gets a grey colored car with grey smoke in the background. Roman (Tyrese Gibson) will be driving a jeep, and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) gets a bike.

Diesel recently shared a poster of the film with his character leaning on his car that has a cross pendant hanging on the rear view mirror. The pendant appears to be significant for the film because the teaser video that was released online shows that it is something that the kid in the movie wears for protection.

According to Screen Rant, it seems the story of “Fast and Furious 9” will be about Dominic living a peaceful life when a new threat changes that life and forces him to return to fight. Mia (Jordana Brewster) will also be returning to help Dom in this fight.

The upcoming film is expected to give the female characters a more important role after Rodriguez slammed the franchise for not focusing on the women. Jordana may be one of the characters to benefit from this, as her character appears to be playing a more central role in the film.

“Fast and Furious 9” has been directed by Justin Lin. It will be released on May 22.
