‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Star Dakota Johnson Flashes Wedding Band While Filming Beach Scene For Third Movie, ‘Fifty Shades Freed’

Dakota Johnson and co-star Jamie Dornan have been hard at work over the last few months, filming both “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” The on-screen couple was spotted shooting a scene on the beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France, early this week and may have given away a major clue about what to expect in the third and final film.

Photos snapped by nearby paparazzi show Dornan, 34, and Johnson soaking up the sun on an outdoor bed on Tuesday, according to People magazine. The pair stripped down to their swim suits, showing off their flawless figures — but that’s not the most shocking thing either was wearing that day. Upon closer inspection it becomes clear that Johnson, 26, is wearing a diamond wedding ring — meaning that somewhere between “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” her character, Anastasia Steele, and Dornan’s, Christian Grey, may have tied the knot. People reports that the pair may have been on their honeymoon in the scene, noting that they were cuddling close to one another and rubbing each other down as the cameras rolled.

Photos from the shoot surface more than one week after E. L. James, who wrote the “Fifty Shades of Grey” novels for which the films are named, announced that filming in Vancouver, Canada, had wrapped. On July 5, James shared photos from the set, telling her more than 500,000 followers she was “gonna miss this view.” She made it clear that while filming in the Western Canadian city was complete, the films were not yet done. James said that “within the first six months of the year” she would be whisking the cast and crew away to France. While she provided very few details about their reason for filming there, the books include a portion in which Christian and Anastasia jet overseas for a lavish honeymoon.

Filming for “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” began in Vancouver in February. A majority of the film’s steamiest scenes were shot in private on sets, but a few were filmed in public. Onlookers caught Dornan and Johnson filming an iconic gallery kissing scene — portrayed in the books — in March.

“Fifty Shades Darker” is set to hit theaters long before “Fifty Shades Freed.” The film, which will introduce a whole host of new characters including Leila Williams (Bella Heathcote) and Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger), will be released on Feb. 10, 2017. “Fifty Shades Freed” will follow in February 2018.
