‘The Flash’ Season 3 Spoilers: Has Cisco Really Forgiven Barry For Creating Flashpoint?
“The Flash” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) has already forgiven Barry (Grant Gustin) for creating Flashpoint after the former accidentally changed the course of history himself in the “Invasion!” crossover event.
“Based on [Season 3,] episode 7 (‘Killer Frost’) of ‘Flash,’ Cisco and Barry were probably at their lowest point, because Cisco learned that Dante (Nicholas Gonzales) died in the Flashpoint conundrum,” Kreisberg said (via Entertainment Weekly) during a press Q&A hosted by The CW. “But their friendship has been renewed through the course of [the ‘Invasion!’] episodes. So when we come back in episode 9 (‘The Present’), Team Flash is in a really good place and strong again, which they need to be, because they’re going to confront Savitar in episode 9.”
In last night’s episode of “Legends of Tomorrow,” which was the final installment of the “Invasion!” crossover event, Cisco traveled with Felicty (Emily Bett Rickards), Mick (Dominic Purcell), Nate (Nick Zano) and Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) back to 1951 Oregon where they freed a Dominator from the custody of a group led by the younger version of Glasses (Jacob Richter). The heroes’ act of kindness, however, accidentally screwed the timeline, and that made Cisco realize what Barry might have felt after he unintentionally changed everyone’s life post-Flashpoint.
While fans have yet to literally hear Cisco that he has already forgiven Barry, Cisco stopping Barry from turning himself to the Dominators pretty much showed that he has buried the hatchet with the Scarlet Speedster. “We’re not letting you sacrifice yourself. There is no way,” Cisco told Barry. “I don’t care if that’s what it means to be a hero. You’re not a hero to me. You’re my friend.”
Although it Cisco has already forgiven Barry, the synopsis for next week’s episode of “The Flash” revealed that Cisco can’t help but think about his late brother Dante as he celebrates his first Christmas without him.
Next week’s episode of “The Flash,” which also serves as the show’s midseason finale, airs on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
