‘The Flash’ Season 4: Jessica Camacho On Danny Trejo’s Casting As Breacher
“The Flash” star Jessica Camacho was stoked when she found out that Danny Trejo was cast as her onscreen dad in Season 4 of the CW series.
“I flipped out,” Camacho told Comicbook.com when asked about her reaction when she learned that Trejo will be playing the role of Breacher. “I geeked out, for sure. I completely geeked out!”
“I have been such a big fan of Danny for years,” continued the actress, who portrays Breacher’s daughter Gypsy on the Grant Gustin-led series. “He’s just the coolest. He’s iconic in his badass-dom; I just thought that that was a perfect fit. … They couldn’t have nailed it any better.”
Trejo is set to make his first appearance in Season 4, episode 4, in which his character shows up on Earth-1 and takes an immediate disliking to Gypsy’s boyfriend, Cisco (Carlos Valdes).
“He comes in when Cisco and Gypsy are just totally vibing and are wrapped up in our feelings for one another,” Camacho told Collider. “Everything is great and we’re in this great place, and here comes my daddy, who’s not having Cisco hanging out with his daughter. No man is good enough for her, in his eyes. Now that Cisco is saying that he is trying to be a part of her life, [Breacher] is like, ‘Okay, we’ll see what you’ve got!’ and decides to put him to a very, very intense test. That episode is gonna be so fun because it is definitely Breacher on the hunt for Cisco. He’s gotta show him what he’s made of, and it’s gonna be such a great episode.”
While Breacher is this ass-kicking, really scary, imposing dude, the character has a soft spot for his daughter Gypsy. “It’s really beautiful,” Gypsy told Comic Book Resources of the love between the father and daughter. “She’s putty in his hand to a certain extent, but he’s putty in hers, even more so. They have that sincere love for one another. Gypsy allows herself to be vulnerable with very few people. Cisco, being one, and her dad being the other.”
“The Flash” Season 4 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
