Showrunner Eric Wallace has dropped some brand-new Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) spoilers for the fans of “The Flash.” Can fans expect a new and improved Wally?

This article contains spoilers for 'The Flash' Season 6 episodes.

Matt from TVLine spoke with Wallace and the showrunner talked about the return of Wally in the current season. He stated that things are “exciting” for Lonsdale’s character. He recounted the first time he talked to him about his character, Wally, in “The Flash” Season 6.

“When I first talked to Keiynan about it, he was very excited about what he called this ‘fresh take’ on Wally,” Wallace told Matt.

He added that, once Lonsdale was on set, he was in love with the development of this new Wally. He explained that it is the same character, but he has developed new abilities and power. Wally has changed.

“And once on-set, he was loving ‘the New Wally West’ — and that’s not an exaggeration at all. It’s the same character that we know and love, but he has grown, deepened and changed. And he might even have some new abilities,” Wallace said. It will be exciting to see Wally in the post-Crisis world.

Earlier, Wallace mentioned that the second half of the sixth season will be the “fallout from Crisis,” as everything begins with this new world that Crisis has started. The game has changed and the challenges are fresh and Team Flash has no idea what will happen.

He also teased that Wally returns for one of the most critical episodes in “The Flash” Season 6. He returns to deal with something that will not only change him but also impact Barry (Grant Gustin). “He comes back a changed person, and what he comes back to deal with, and how it involves Barry, will literally change the two of them — and their abilities, quite frankly — moving forward,” Wallace mentioned.

“The Flash” Season 6 episode 14 is scheduled to telecast on Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2020 on The CW. The episode is titled “Death of the Speed Force.”
