Floyd Mayweather Says Donald Trump's A 'Real Man' For P---y Comments
Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Wednesday defended Donald Trump's comments that surfaced in October 2016 in which he shared candid and lewd views about women, using the phrase "grab 'em by the p---sy." The famed boxer addressed the controversy in the second part of an interview with Hollywood Unlocked.
Mayweather's interview was mostly tame in content but when on the topic of Trump's comments he claimed it was what a "real man" would say.
"People don’t like the truth," Mayweather said. "He speak[s] like a real man spoke. Real men speak like, 'Man, she had a fat a--. You see her a--? I had to squeeze her a--. I had to grab that fat a--.' Right? So he talking locker room talk. Locker room talk. 'I’m the man,' you know what I’m saying? 'You know who I am. Yeah, I grabbed her by the p---y. And?'
"I feel people shy away from realness," he added. "This man didn’t do nothing. Listen, if y'all didn’t want the man in the White House, y'all should have voted the other way. It ain’t like he went and robbed — he done his homework. He did what he had to do and he got there."
Trump's comments were made in 2005 when he was chatting privately with former "Access Hollywood" anchor Billy Bush about his methods for luring women.
"You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them," Trump began in the recorded video. "It's like a magnet. I just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."
"Whatever you want," Bush said in response.
"Grab 'em by the p---y. You can do anything," Trump added.
Mayweather has a well-established friendship with the president, with Trump having stated in July that he was interested in attending Mayweather's August fight with Conor McGregor. Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr., were pictured with Mayweather after a brief meeting in November 2016.
"Had a great visit from @FloydMayweather today with @realdonaldtrump. One of the best all time boxing legends," Trump said of the gathering in a tweet.
Mayweather also defended his decision to attend and support Trump during his presidential inauguration. "We judge people that we really don't know. So I'm not here to say nothing negative about nobody," Mayweather told TMZ Sports in January.
A representative of Floyd Mayweather Jr. did not immediately return International Business Times' request for comment.
