‘Game Of Thrones’ 2016 Marathon Schedule: Where And When To Watch Every Episode Before Season 7 Premiere
Behind on “Game of Thrones”? You’re in luck. HBO network is gearing up for a massive marathon of their original drama, which will return in the latter half of 2017 for Season 7.
Starting Dec. 26, cable users subscribed to the premium channel will be able to watch Season 1 through Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” on HBO2. The marathon kicks off on Monday at 12 p.m. EST/3 p.m. PST and will run until 10 p.m. EST/1 a.m. PST. “Game of Thrones” fans can expect to catch episodes of the show at the same times throughout the five day period.
The year-end “Game of Thrones” marathon is the perfect time for longtime fans to revisit bloody battles, noteworthy deaths and more. It’s also a great time for novice fans to get into the show before it returns.
While we understand that not everyone will be able to settle into the couch for five straight days of “Game of Thrones,” you may not have to watch the marathon in its entirety to get the point. On Dec. 4, we rounded up the must-watch episodes for Thronies and newbies to the “Game of Thrones” universe. Check out the full list, then head over to HBO’s programming schedule to find out when the episodes are airing.
Those unable to watch the HBO2 marathon aren’t completely out of luck. HBO Go and HBO Now subscribers can stream every episode of “Game of Thrones” online at their leisure. Amazon Prime subscribers can also get in on the fun. Early this month it was announced that Prime users will now be able to add HBO and Cinemax subscription to their Amazon Channels.
Those wishing to tune in to HBO original series’ like “Game of Thrones,” “Westworld,” “Insecure,” and “Divorce” can do so for an additional $14.99 on top of the cost of their Prime membership. If that’s too steep for you after spending all your money on holiday gifts, Prime is offering a 30-day free trial period to new subscribers.
While viewers prepare for Season 7, “Game of Thrones” stars as well as the hard-working crew assigned to the HBO series, are chugging away completing the series. Following weeks of filming in Spain, Watchers on the Wall reported that the crew has jetted to Dubrovnik, Croatia. There, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) and more have been spotted filming scenes in what they use as King’s Landing.
The Dubrovnik Times noted that the crew was slated to be there for just a few more days and had used a number of historic monuments in the old city. The publication noted that the “Game of Thrones” crew was spotted using a snow machine to simulate colder weather, meaning winter will come to the usually sunny town in Season 7.
