'Game Of Thrones' Season 6: Actor Rupert Vansittart Confirms Return; Art Parkinson Remains Mum
Cast members Rupert Vansittart and Art Parkinson talked about “Game of Thrones” Season 6 in separate interviews. The HBO show's recently concluded Season 5 introduced new characters, but some major characters were missing. [Spoiler Alert!]
Vansittart, who plays Yohn Royce, appeared briefly in Season 5. The actor spoke to Flicks and the City about returning in the next season, and the video of this interaction has been posted on a YouTube channel. The actor confirmed he will return for Season 6, even though Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) at the Vale of Arryn -- a region of Westeros -- have moved on to different locations.
Yohn Royce is a major character at the Vale. Vansittart said he had no idea what his role will be this time around, or whether his character would get his “head chopped off.” The actor said he has been contracted to film his scenes in July and December this year.
One character who viewers have not seen is Rickon Stark, played by Parkinson. The actor also spoke to Flicks and the City about “Game of Thrones” and some of his other projects, and the video of the interaction has also been posted on YouTube.
Parkinson said that he was not allowed to say anything about the character or about him returning to the show. The actor noted that the books written by George RR Martin, on which the TV series is based, talk about Rickon being on the cannibal island called Skagos. Parkinson added that the show's writers might change such elements in the TV series.
A report by Winter Is Coming has compiled some of the elements that can be seen in Season 6. The report notes that executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss have revealed that Cersei (Lena Headley) will blame Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) for the death of her daughter Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free). The report also points out that cast member Jessica Henwick, who plays Nymeria Sand, may have previously hinted at Drone going to war with the Iron Throne.
