Actress and singer Kristen Bell is apparently is a big fan of HBO's “Game of Thrones,” having recently invited some friends to watch the show's Season 5 finale. But what started as a fun "GoT"-themed costume party turned into a shocker after the finale episode aired.

Bell was busy Monday, excitedly posting Instagram updates about her "GoT" get-together, E! News reported. She shared a group photo of herself with friends -- including “Veronica Mars” co-star Ryan Hansen. Bell’s guests wore their finest "GoT" costumes, with Hansen emulating Samwell Tarly while Bell dressed as Lady Tyrell. Bell captioned the photo: "Sam,Gilly,Baby Sam,2 ravens,Granny Tyrell, & a direwolf(Greywind) READY TO PARTY! @MissLauraMoses @HiRyanHansen #GoT." She even uploaded a quick snap of her dog, writing: "Guys, my dog has greyscale. Do NOT tell the lord of light. #dogs #greyscale."

But as the Season 5 finale progressed, the mood went from light and merry to shocked and devastated. "Kinda lost my Throner after that one. #GOT," Hansen tweeted after the final, blood-soaked scene where Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) faded into the darkness. Bell posted: "HOW. DARE. THEY."

This latest season of “Game of Thrones” may have had the greatest number of shocking deaths and heart-wrenching moments. But episode 10, titled “Mother’s Mercy,” featured multiple major character deaths, most notably of Snow and Stannis (Stephen Dillane). And though "GoT" fans may still be hoping for Jon Snow to come back to life, director David Nutter told the Hollywood Reporter that “Jon Snow is dead.” The grim news was seconded by "GoT" showrunner Dan Weiss, who told Entertainment Weekly that “dead is dead.”

“We would hope that after seeing the scene and the way it’s shot that the answer to that will be unambiguous in the minds of the people watching it,” Weiss said. “It should be pretty clear what happens by the time you’re done seeing that scene. It’s not an ‘Oh, what just happened?' scene.”

Regardless what happens to the beloved characters of author George RR Martin’s "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, "Game of Thrones" fans -- perhaps even including Kristen Bell -- are already looking forward to how the story will progress in Season 6.
