“General Hospital” viewers have been feeling relieved now that they can watch new episodes of the ABC soap opera after production on set was shut down in March amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, it appears fans will have to go without their “GH” fix on Labor Day. On Monday, the network is scheduled to air an encore of the April 14 episode.

The synopsis for the episode reveals, “Michael (Chad Duell) is intimidated. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) turns to Chase (Josh Swickard) for comfort. Nelle (Chloe Lanier) runs into Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Finn (Michael Easton) plans an epic birthday party for Violet (Jophielle Love). Peter (Wes Ramsey) continues to manipulate Maxie (Kirsten Storms).”

When “General Hospital” returns with new episodes, viewers can expect to see plenty of drama and possibly a reunion between a former couple. During an interview with TV Insider, Stuart hinted that his character won’t give up on getting back together with Nina (Cynthia Watros).

“It goes back to when he first confided in Nina about his loneliness, isolation, and physical abnormality,” he explained.

“She’s witnessed his speech impediment. And she loved him all the more. He’s never been able to fathom not having her in his life. She’s the love of his life.”

Even though Nina has moved on from their break up with Jax (Ingo Rademacher), Stuart believes she will always have a special place in her heart for Valentin.

“Valentin’s apologized from a place of true understanding that he’s hurt her. He’s been the architect of his own adversity. I think he’s willing to take the pain of watching her with someone else as penance,” he shared.

“He deserves that, but I don’t think he’ll ever be truly done with Nina. It’s like that [Sting lyric from his song ‘The Book of My Life’] – ‘There’s a chapter on love where the ink’s never dry.’”

New episodes of “General Hospital” are expected to resume Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
