Jason, Sam and Drew finally did something they were not emotionally ready to do, tell Danny the truth. While things went way better than the three adults expected, the emotional moment caused Sam to make a major decision, and on the Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode of “General Hospital,” Sam may have just started something that her heart may not be able to finish.

Earlier in the week, the soap opera’s official Twitter account teased that something unexpected is coming to Port Charles.

“We’ve got new episodes of #GH all week long. And believe us when we say... 2017 is going out with a bang!” the tweet read.

Along with the spoiler that some storylines will experience a huge shakeup, Sam (Kelly Monaco) is also expected to make a major confession before the year is over. After proposing to Drew (Billy Miller) while fighting her feelings for Jason, will she finally confess her love for the man she is already married to?

Sam's proposal came after an unexpected revelation on the ABC soap. When Jason (Steve Burton) visited Sam and Drew’s home, he informed them about the missing flash drive, and they all agreed that someone must have taken it from the donation box.

However, in the middle of their conversation, they got a surprise when Danny (T.K. Weaver) arrived home and greeted his mom’s friend, Jason. After some hesitation, Drew suggested it was time to tell Danny that his real father is Jason and that Drew is his uncle.

Rather than being emotionally shattered by the news that Drew is not his dad, Danny embraced Jason and was eager to learn more about his biological father. The moment brought Sam to tears, believing that the reveal broke Drew’s heart.

She then assured Drew that Jason’s return wouldn’t destroy their family and that she would always be there, but Drew reminded her that he can’t remember who he truly is and has nothing to give to her.

Rather than accepting his somber words, Sam told Drew she knew exactly who he was and got down on one knee to propose to him.

In the previous episode, the two agreed to hold off on a legal marriage until Drew’s memories returned, but Sam made it clear she is not a patient woman. As a result, Drew accepted her marriage proposal.

Sam previously told Carly (Laura Wright) that she loves Jason, but is in love with Drew as well. Although it seems pretty clear that Sam plans on moving forward with Drew, nothing is ever promised on “General Hospital.”

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
