It will be a day of difficult choices and reality checks for the residents of Port Charles as they realize achieving victory doesn’t come without a few losses. On the Thursday, Aug. 9 episode of “General Hospital,” Sonny and Carly are interrupted as Franco fails to protect Kiki.

In the promo for the ABC soap opera, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) hear a loud crash and Sonny rushes off to check out what’s going on. “General Hospital” spoilers reveal Sonny’s day is bittersweet. Although Sonny has finally been reunited with his wife and she is no longer a patient at Ferncliff, he won’t be able to fully enjoy her homecoming.

It’s has been a long road for Carly and Sonny, after Nelle (Chloe Lanier) managed to push Carly close to insanity and get her locked up for attempted murder. Luckily after months of hard times and plenty of help from Jason (Steve Burton), Sam (Kelly Monaco), Michael (Chad Duell) and the PCPD, Nelle was finally caught for her many crimes.

However, the Corinthos family still has to deal with what they believe is the death of Michael’s baby, and they also have one more family issue--Mike (Max Gail). Despite trying to continue his regular routine, Mike’s Alzheimer’s disease is starting to set in quicker than Sonny expected and his father has been struggling to embrace his new normal.

Will Sonny and Carly be able to pick up their lives now that Nelle is out of the picture or will things only get worse for the Corinthos family?

In the ABC promo video, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) asks Franco (Roger Howarth) what’s so important that he felt the need to interrupt her during the trial. “GH” spoilers reveal Franco makes matters worse.

In the previous episode, Scotty (Kin Shriner) told Franco he was worried about the trial because Kiki (Hayley Erin) and Griffin (Matt Cohen) slept together. Although Franco suggested Scotty avoid putting Griffin on the stand, he revealed Bensch (James DePaiva) had a photo of Kiki and Griffin hugging.

Franco told Scotty he would warn Alexis that asking the wrong question could ruin her case but it appears not everyone will be thrilled about his intel. Will Franco’s chat with Alexis make matters worse for Kiki?
