- Fans are positive that more characters could arrive in Update 1.3 after Keqing
"Genshin Impact" Version 1.3 is now available to all players all over the world. The new update's official patch notes are also available online, bearing details of the changes, fixes, improvements, new features and more information about the game. The patch notes also confirm that miHoYo will release new playable characters in the game.
"More character event wishes to follow during Version 1.3," says the "Genshin Impact" Update 1.3 patch notes, seemingly supporting speculations that Hu Tao will be introduced in the latter part of the current update. Earlier, fans shared their disappointment about the absence of an entirely new character in the Dance of Lanterns.
Apparently, miHoYo has other plans for the character events in "Genshin Impact" Update1.3. Usually, character events last for more than a couple of weeks. Interestingly, the latest update appears to have changed this release pattern.
Based on miHoYo's recent announcements, Xiao's Invitation to Mundane Life starts on Feb. 3 then Keqing's Dance of Lanterns begins on Feb. 17. Xiao's banner lasts for only a couple of weeks while Keqing's event ends after 13 days. These are relatively short compared to the length of previous character events in the game.
This could mean that there is more time before miHoyo launches Update 1.4, which is set for mid-March. At this point, nothing is certain yet on the identity of characters that might arrive in the latter part of the update. However, according to "Genshin Impact" insider NEP NEP, Hu Tao could occupy that spot.
The gaming studio earlier announced that maintenance was scheduled to take place at 6 a.m. (UTC+8) on Feb. 2 or 5 p.m. ET on Feb. 2. It was estimated to last for five hours.
PC users were advised to close the game, open the "Genshin Impact" launcher and hit Update. iOS users should open the App Store and tap Update while Android users could simply follow on-screen instructions. For PlayStation 4 users, they must highlight the game on the Home Screen, choose the Options button and look for Check for Update.
