'Genshin Impact' Players Are Upset Over First Anniversary Rewards
KEY POINTS
- "Genshin Impact" fans aren't pleased with the freebies for the game's first anniversary
- The anniversary will reportedly give away 10 Intertwined Fates and resources only
- First-time Genesis Crystal top-ups per account will be reset on the day of the anniversary
The first-ever anniversary of “Genshin Impact” is drawing closer, promising a bountiful celebration for the game’s fans through an in-game event and a bunch of free rewards that the developers are giving away to everybody. However, not every player is happy with the freebies that they’re receiving.
“Genshin Impact” players on Reddit were disappointed when they saw the official list of free rewards that they’ll be receiving later this September, Screen Rant reported.
According to a post from one Redditor, the anniversary giveaways will include only a handful of resources and 10 Intertwined Fates, the game’s dedicated gacha currency for limited-time character banners.
While some argued that free resources and gacha rolls were acceptable, others further expressed their disappointment by saying that this year’s Lantern Rite Festival had more to offer than the anniversary.
What players found most disheartening was that the Genesis Crystal top-up bonus per account was getting reset, encouraging players to spend money on an event that was meant to celebrate the community.
“Genshin Impact” recently entered 2.0 status, which saw the release of the long-awaited Inazuma region. Soon, the game will be updated to version 2.1, which will introduce plenty of new content to the game such as new characters, regions, weapons and events. Coincidentally, the anniversary celebration will overlap with one of the upcoming events called Moonlight Merriment, otherwise known as the Moonchase Festival.
Patch 2.1 will bring a considerable number of free Fates and Primogems for players. Screen Rant noted that players can get up to 24 free gacha pulls from the 10 free Fates and 2270 Primogems that can be acquired during the patch duration.
Additionally, PlayStation players will be getting “Horizon: Zero Dawn” character Aloy as a free four-star Cryo bow user in the coming patch. Players in other platforms will have to wait until Patch 2.2 before they can obtain Aloy as a party member, however.
“Genshin Impact’s” first anniversary happens on Sept. 29. Meanwhile, Patch 2.1 drops on Sept. 1, granting players access to the new Inazuma islands as well as the first banner for the Raiden Shogun and Kujo Sara. Sangonomiya Kokomi’s banner is due to arrive at a later date.
