Gigi Hadid made her first major appearance since becoming a mom at the Met Gala on Monday evening and it was an explosive one.

Hadid walked the Met Gala red carpet donning a white Prada satin gown that screamed sophistication. She matched her outfit with a vibrant red ponytail, black gloves and stockings. It was her new fiery red hair that made her overall look a major head-turner.

"Tonight, I'm showing her what it means to dress up, own it and have balance," she told Vogue correspondent Keke Palmer.

"She's one next week and I just feel like I've been on mama duty. I've been at the farm every day in my sweatpants and in our matching messy buns,” she said, referring to her daughter Khai.

It was her sixth consecutive Met Gala appearance and her first since she and longtime beau Zayn Malik welcomed their baby last year. While Malik stayed at home to look after their daughter Monday night, Gigi said she felt "right at home" at the event with her little sister, Bella Hadid, by her side.

This week has been an eventful one for the 26-year-old model. Before she attended the Met Gala, she strutted down the runway at New York Fashion Week last week for Proenza Schouler, Moschino, Michael Kors and others.

Hadid's daughter was only two months old when she returned to work last year. The model said the experience gave her a fresh outlook on body image and the evolving standards of beauty in the modeling world.

"I know that I'm not as small as I was before, but I also am a very realistic thinker," she told Vogue at the time. "I straight up was like, 'Yeah, I'll shoot a Vogue cover, but I'm obviously not going to be a size O,' nor do I, at this point feel like I need to be back to that. I also think it's a blessing of this time in fashion that anyone who says that I have to be that can suck it."
