The 'Gilmore Girls' Netflix Revival Table Read Has Already Happened
Luke’s Diner is officially back in business!
After months of speculation, Netflix confirmed on Friday that “Gilmore Girls” would be returning to the small screen. A rep for Scott Patterson, who portrays Luke on the series, also revealed to International Business Times that the first table read for the revival has already taken place! That means fans of the seven-season series are one step closer to witnessing more coffee-drenched moments between the witty mother-daughter duo Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel).
But the Gilmore gals aren’t the only ones making their way back to the quaint town of Stars Hollow. Entertainment Weekly reported that a majority of the original cast will reprise their beloved roles in the four-part revival, including Patterson, Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane).
Netflix made the exciting announcement via Twitter with an iconic line from the dramedy that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino in 2000.
Graham then followed the streaming provider’s lead, sharing her own post about the forthcoming reboot, which included a nostalgic photo. In the picture, fans can see Graham holding onto a light blue jacket — one she sported throughout the series that has the words “PROPERTY OF GILMORE GIRLS COSTUME” embroidered on it.
According to TVLine, filming for the Netflix revival of “Gilmore Girls” will begin Tuesday in Los Angeles.
