Giuliana Rancic Is Getting The Ultimate Revenge By Refusing To Comment On Kelly Osbourne's Racist Remarks
Although it’s not nearly as entertaining, “Fashion Police” star Giuliana Rancic is proving that taking the high road is the best revenge of all. The 40-year-old TV personality is refusing to comment on the recent karma kick being given by the public to Kelly Osbourne following her appearance on “The View.”
For those that aren’t aware, Osbourne made a very public show of quitting her job on the E! series “Fashion Police” after Rancic made a joke about singer Zendaya’s dreadlocks and the 18 year old smelling like patchouli oil and weed. A lot of people took the joke as racist, and that prompted Osbourne to throw her co-host under the bus by leaving the show. Not only did she force E! to recast her, but she took to Twitter to call Rancic out personally with harsh comments like: "I do not condone racism” and “I did not make the weed comment.”
Since then, Rancic has issued an apology and the situation blew over. However, the plot thickened on Tuesday when Osbourne appeared on “The View” and upset the Latino American community while discussing Donald Trump’s views on immigration reform.
“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?”
Despite issuing an apology of her own, it seems like the public was just waiting for Rancic to finally get her revenger on Osbourne with some kind of snappy put down. Instead, Osbourne seems to be facing a worse fate – an utter and complete lack of acknowledgement.
According to VH1, the topic came up on “E! News” earlier this week, where Rancic simply reported the incident and then revealed that she wouldn’t be seizing the opportunity for just deserts.
“I don’t think I need to comment,” she said. “I’ve got to take the high road on this.”
Fortunately, TMZ wasn’t willing to let her off the hook that easily. In the video posted below, a savvy paparazzi attempts to sneak in a question about the Kelly Osbourne controversy while Rancic was walking to her car with her husband, Bill Rancic. Despite the shutterbug’s best efforts, Rancic is a pro and said that she “can’t comment” on the issue.
Luckily for Osbourne, she’s getting the backup that she never offered Rancic from the ladies of “The View.” Whoopi Goldberg immediately began Wednesday’s episode with a short segment to address the verbal flub that Osbourne made on their stage.
"I want to just start by making something clear: The point she was actually trying to make was that Donald Trump's stance on immigration will only end up hurting the people that Donald Trump is counting on," Goldberg said (via Us Weekly). "I think that's what she was trying to say. One of the things that happens on live television is you're trying to get your point in and you sometimes step in dog doo. It does not make you a racist."
