Golden Globes 2015 Highlights: GIFs Of The Most Awkward And Hilarious Moments
The dust is finally settling after Hollywood’s most talented TV and movie stars came together for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards. The night was packed with funny moments, shocking upsets and boozy schmoozing. To celebrate the night that was, we've compiled some of the most GIF-worthy moments from the show:
Jokes, Jokes, Jokes
Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kicked off the night with some insanely funny scripted material about various nominees. In reference to the movie “Big Eyes,” the duo took a shot at Emma Stone, who took the hit in stride:
Awkward ...
Poehler and Fey’s opening monologue was mostly hilarious, but they peppered in a little bit of awkwardness by tackling sensitive subjects such as North Korea’s recent objection to the movie “The Interview” and, more shockingly, the rape allegations against Bill Cosby. The jokes made the whole room, and half of America, gasp:
Benedict Cumberbatch Is One Charming Fellow
The opening monologue ended with the hosts informing the crowd that the first person to raise their hand got to present the first award with Jennifer Aniston. It’s hard to tell if Benedict Cumberbatch was just acting or genuinely excited to get to present with the former “Friends” star. Our guess is both:
Droppin’ Photo Bombs!
When Margaret Cho dresses as a member of the North Korean military and demands you take a selfie with her, even Meryl Streep can’t say no. However, in a true act of patriotism, Benedict Cumberbatch took it upon himself to photo-bomb the big moment:
This Is How You Cry
Oprah Winfrey let a few tears drop when John Legend and Common accepted their award for Best Original Song in “Selma.” This is what she looked like:
This Is ... Something Else
Like Oprah, John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen shed a few tears, but -- well, this is what SHE looked like. In her defense, she took to Twitter to comment on the face, saying, “Sorry I don’t practice my cry face.”
Frank Underwood Stopped By
When Kevin Spacey won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series -- Drama, the man who initially took the stage to accept was his “House of Cards” persona, Frank Underwood. And it was awesome:
“I Can’t F---ing Believe I Won”
It’s hard to believe that once Frank Underwood "left," Kevin Spacey would be the one with the foul mouth. The actor let the F-word slip during his acceptance speech -- much to the surprise of “Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba:
Hawkeye Indeed
Jeremy Renner made an unscripted pun about Jennifer Lopez's breasts while presenting alongside the "Boy Next Door" star. Lopez didn't appear offended, but still, it was a risky move for the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” star:
2016 Hosts?
If anyone can follow Tina Fey and Amy Poehler it would be Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. If someone hasn’t floated the idea for them to host the 2016 Golden Globe Awards after their hilarious presentation last night, then a huge mistake is being made in Hollywood:
Then Again ...
Margaret Cho closed the evening, still in costume as a North Korean general, saying she’d be hosting next year. Not sure if the Hollywood Foreign Press Association signed off on that, but who are we to argue?
