Grace Vanderwaal became an overnight sensation when she first appeared in “America’s Got Talent” Season 11. After winning $1 million and signing with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music record label, she has gone on to release her first album, “Perfectly Imperfect.”

However, it seems that the busy schedule, guest appearances and recordings are getting the best of the 13-year-old. During her interview with SPCBK on Monday, Dec. 5, the “I Don’t Know My Name” singer looked thin as ever. Since she wasn’t wearing any makeup, the dark circles around her eyes were very much visible. Despite her appearance, Vanderwaal still remained energeticthroughout the 10-minute discussion that was primarily focused on her EP.

Vanderwaal also responded to some fan questions about her music career, such as when she first started writing and which song from her EP is her favorite. According to the Suffern native, she started writing songs at the age of 11, and she loved recording “Gossip Girl” the most. When one fan asked the singer what inspires her to write songs, Vanderwaal said that inspiration is everywhere so she usually finds them in movies, books and her own experiences.

Meanwhile, following the release of “Perfectly Imperfect,” Vanderwaal was given a list of singers that she could potentially collaborate with. While speaking with Rolling Stone, the “Beautiful Thing” singer said that there are some plans for her to collaborate with Shawn Mendes and Meghan Trainor. Vanderwaal idolize and follow both artists, but she is still most drawn to her favorite, Katy Perry. In fact, the “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner almost had a chance to meet Perry. “She was going to China, and it got too late and she couldn’t do it,” she said.
