‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Star Zoe Saldana Explains Why She Has A Tattoo Of Her Husband’s Face

Zoe Saldana loves her husband so much that she decided to put a tattoo of his face over her left rib cage.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Saldana said that her hubby, Marco Perego, has a tattoo of her face on his left forearm, and she thought that it was only fair that she returns the gesture.

Perego’s ink of Saldana’s face was first revealed to the public when the pair was photographed in Beverly Hills, California after enjoying dinner together at Dominick’s restaurant back in November 2013. Click here to see Perego’s tattoo.

Although the 38-year-old actress just got her tattoo, she told Entertainment Tonight that she had always wanted to have an ink of Perego’s face long before her husband got his.

“I was the one who was going to do it in the first place,” Saldana said. “But we get our tattoos with an amazing artist called Mark Mahoney, [and] every time we go for me, Marco would end up convincing me that I didn’t have to get it, so that he can get a new tattoo.”

But during their recent appointment with Mahoney, Saldana finally got it. “I’m like, ‘I’ve been waiting for years and you’re not going to shelf me and I’m going to get it. It’s my turn,’” the “Avatar” actress recalled of her conversation with Perego at the time she had her ink.

When asked how painful her tattoo experience was, the mom of two said: “It hurt! I was bedridden the next day.”

Saldana can be next seen in the crime drama film “Live by Night,” which opens in theaters on Friday, Jan. 13. She also reprises her role as Gamora in the highly anticipated superhero movie “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which is slated for a May 5 release.
