Hallmark Movies And Mysteries ‘Christmas Homecoming’ Premiere: Meet The Cast, Watch Trailer
While the Hallmark Channel has Countdown to Christmas, its sister network, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, has The Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas, and it’s also filled with all-new festive films.
The event kicked off on Nov. 4 with “The Perfect Christmas Present,” starring Sam Page and Tara Holt, and continued Nov. 5 with “Christmas in the Air,” Nov. 11 with “A Song for Christmas,” featuring Becca Tobin and Kevin McGarry, and “Engaging Father Christmas” on Nov. 12. That last one was the sequel to “Finding Father Christmas,” which had the same stars, Erin Krakow and Niall Matter.
Now, the network is getting ready for its newest Christmas movie, “Christmas Homecoming,” with Julie Benz and Michael Shanks, which premieres tonight.
While Benz isn’t new to the Hallmark family, as she was in Hallmark Channel’s “Charming Christmas” in 2015, this is her first movie in two years.
Shanks, meanwhile, was in Hallmark Channel’s “Hearts of Spring” in 2016, which premiered during the network’s Spring Fling event.
The two are now heading over to Hallmark Movies and Mysteries to spread their holiday cheer in the form of “Christmas Homecoming,” a military-themed Christmas film.
“A military widow (Benz), whose faith in Christmas has lapsed, rents an apartment to a handsome Army Captain (Shanks), recovering from an injury in battle,” the synopsis revealed.
The Army Captain believes in the power of Christmas so much, that it inspires those around him, including the widowed landlord.
The two decide to team up to save the town’s military museum and choose a Christmas-themed fundraising event as the perfect way to do it. As they work on saving the museum, the duo find themselves falling in love with each other, and “being healed by the magic of Christmas.”
Will their injuries - hers mental and his physical - heal enough that the two are able to accept their feelings and pursue a real relationship? Or will the Army Captain decide to go back into battle after recovering and the widow decide that she can’t go through that again?
“Christmas Homecoming” airs on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries tonight at 9 p.m. EST.
