Remember midnight "Harry Potter" releases from when you were younger? You'd draw a lightning bolt on your forehead, drive with your mom to the bookstore late at night and excitedly wait in a long line with fellow fans? Now's your chance to do it all over again.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," the script of a play with the same name, is set to be released July 31, and Potterheads everywhere are taking the opportunity to throw book parties. Many of them take place Saturday night, so fans can nab their copies precisely at 12:01 a.m.

If you're in New York City and have been waiting for years to get back to the Wizarding World, look no further. Here are six "Harry Potter" events this weekend in the Big Apple, collected from DNAinfo and Time Out New York:

Barnes and Noble locations in Union Square, Tribeca, Park Slope and other areas are holding "Countdown to Midnight" parties starting at 8 p.m. EDT. The website promises giveaways, contests and other fun activities. More details here.

Villain at 50 North 3rd St. in Brooklyn will be serving Potter-themed cocktails and Honeydukes-style snacks all night. Stop by and play butterbeer pong (yep, that's a thing) between 10 p.m. and midnight. More details here.

The Strand's party starts at 8 p.m., with age-specific costume contests closing on the hour. The Strand — at 828 Broadway — will have a photo booth, food and trivia to help you celebrate the Boy Who Lived all night long. The store closes at 11:30 p.m., but the event goes until 12:45 a.m. More details here.

The Astoria Bookshop at 31-29 31st St. is staying open from 10 p.m. to midnight for a party complete with butterbeer and pumpkin pasties (two treats from the books, of course). There will be trivia and tarot card readings, as well. More details here.

Older readers can check out BookCulture's party starting at 11 p.m. and featuring drinks, snacks and costumes in the run-up to the release of "Cursed Child." Organizers will have a raffle at the event, which will take place at 536 West 112th St. More details here.

Books of Wonder at 18 West 18th St. is giving away temporary tattoos, stickers, bookmarks and color prints of the book covers during its party from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wear your costumes, see magic tricks and get your face painted. More details here.
