Heidi Klum Tweets Photo From Her Teenage Modeling Days
Heidi Klum is known as one of the world's most successful supermodels today. But, in 1992, she was just a beautiful girl hoping to make it big.
On Thursday, Heidi Klum tweeted a photo to her half-a-million fans of her in 1992, at just 19-years-old. Wow! Check out this picture from 1992. One of my very first photo shoots. This is my original hair color! wrote Klum.
The photo show the German beauty with dark brown locks wearing a pastel taffeta gown while lying on a bed surrounded by childhood toys.
The Project Runway host first entered the modeling biz when she won a national modeling contest, called Model 92. She beat out 25,000 other contestants for the top spot, according to Us Weekly. This won her $300,000 modeling contract from Thomas Zeumer, CEO of Metropolitan Models New York.
After that, Heidi Klum's career skyrocketed. She began modeling for Victoria's Secret in 1998 and enjoyed a lustrous 13-year career with the lingerie company. Klum undoubtedly helped the VS brand become what it is today. That same year, she appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and her status as a pin-up goddess was solidified.
In Allure's May 2012 issue, the 38-year-old stunner bares it all for the magazine's annual naked issue, wearing nothing but a Herve Van der Straeten bracelet on her right wrist.
Despite her amazing success as an icon of beauty, Heidi Klum struggled with body issues.
I was too curvy and too busty and a little too short... And I was a little bit self-conscious about it. But I was by no means heavy, I just -- well, you have hips and boobs, and that's it. Haute couture, you don't really see girls with big boobs, she told the magazine.
Now, she insists she is 100 percent comfortable in her own skin (and why shouldn't she be?!).
I'm proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven't done anything. Everyone has a view of what's not pretty and (plastic surgery) just doesn't look pretty to me. Especially when I see it on really young girls, she told Allure.
I don't want to name names, but it's like, wow, I remember you five years ago, looking to me so beautiful, and now it's like... who is this person? And I know girls half my age who do it. What are they gonna do at 40 or 50, when the s*** really hits the fan?
Klum also dished on her split from husband Seal.
Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and then you just figure it out and deal with it, but my dream always was that - to have the perfect family and have lots of children and a beautiful garden and trampolines and swings and things.
I had dreams of how I wanted things to be and planned for things and, as we all know today, they don't always turn out as you dreamt them in your head.
I don't resent anything that ever happened. Things just turn out the way they turn out.
