Holly Henry Wows On ‘The Voice’ And Sets Twitter Ablaze With Coldplay's 'The Scientist;' Listen To More Covers Here [VIDEO]
“The Voice” already has a fan favorite after Holly Henry preformed Coldplay’s “The Scientist” on Tuesday night’s show. The teen sang on the show and instantly became a trending topic on Twitter, with many predicting her to win this season's show.
The award-winning show airs on NBC every Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST. The show recently won Best Reality Competition at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, and it pleased many of its fans by bringing back all four original judges for season five: Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Blake Shelton.
Henry, a blonde from Minneapolis, Minn., described herself as shy and awkward and said she plays various instruments and writes music.
Shelton was the first of the judges to select Henry during the blind audition. Henry was only a few notes into singing “The Scientist” when Shelton promptly turned his chair around to try to get her on his team.
As her soft voice continued, it wasn’t long before the Levine, the Maroon Five front-man and Green also turned their seats around, but a newly trimmed down Aguilera wasn’t as easy to please. The “Hurt” singer waited until Henry’s last note to finally turn her chair around, to the dismay of Shelton, who seemed not to want the unwanted competition.
Ultimately, Shelton was able to get Henry on his team, partly due to him being quick to turn his chair around.
Henry has a YouTube channel with a few different acoustic covers. Check it out here.
Twitter was abuzz after her on-air audition, and a YouTube video of her cover already has hundreds of hits. Check out what social media users had to say about Henry below:
