Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has opened up about her first boyfriend Dralin Carswell, saying she’s “very happy” with their relationship.

The 16-year-old reality star gushed over her first love in an exclusive interview with E! News Monday. According to Alana, Dralin, 20, is “very loving.”

“He’s very affectionate at certain times. There’s a lot of stuff about him that I like,” she added.

Mama June’s youngest daughter then shared that she’s “very, very happy” at the moment.

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 22, who was also present during the interview, set the record straight on the rumors that the family does not approve of Dralin for Alana.

“I love him. He’s so great with the kids. He’s great with us. He’s very respectful to Alana,” she said.

“A lot of people try and make it seem like we don’t like Dralin [for Alana], and we really do. She’s a lot happier,” she added.

Honey Boo Boo and Dralin have been together for some time now. They made their relationship Instagram official in September 2021 after almost six months of dating.

In April, they were spotted enjoying a stroll together near her home in McIntyre, Georgia.

The couple initially opted to keep their relationship private. Some fans expressed concern over Alana dating a college student, and the backlash prompted the teen to delete her social media posts featuring Dralin.

However, the pair surprised fans when “Mama June: Road to Redemption” came back for its sixth season with Dralin joining the cast. He has since been appearing on the show alongside his girlfriend.

In an episode that aired early this month, Alana went on her first date with Dralin. The couple had a blast when they went bowling. At the end of the day, Honey Boo Boo got her first kiss when it was time for them to say goodbye.

Meanwhile, Alana recently sparked engagement rumors after she was spotted wearing a diamond sparkler on her left ring finger last month. Her representative quickly shut down the rumors, saying the accessory was “just a ring.”
