How To Get ‘Outlander’ NYC Panel Tickets: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe Appearing
“Outlander” fans have a chance to see the cast in New York City. As part of the Season 5 press tour, the cast and creatives will be interviewed for a panel at the 92nd Street Y, and there will be a live audience.
The panel, held at Kaufmann Concert Hall, will include actors Caitriona Balfe (Claire), Sam Heughan (Jamie), Sophie Skelton (Brianna), Richard Rankin (Roger), executive producer Maril Davis and author Diana Gabaldon. It won’t just be a Q&A session with the Fraser family actors and writers, though. There will be an early screening of the Season 5 premiere, and the panel is a full five days before the television premiere.
“Starz’s Outlander: A Screening and Conversation” will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available on the 92Y website, and prices range from $45 to $90. “Outlander” fans are known for their enthusiasm, so get tickets as soon as possible because it is likely to sell out.
The panel is part of the 92Y Recanati-Kaplan Talks program, which is also hosting conversations with the teams from shows like "You," "Shrill," "The Bold Type" and "Schitt's Creek" this month.
There will be plenty to chat about. “Outlander” Season 5 will show the Frasers facing the Revolutionary War, but even readers of Gabaldon’s books aren’t sure how everything will turn out. The show veered away from the books with Murtagh’s (Duncan Lacroix) story (he was killed at the Battle of Culloden in the books). In last year’s cliffhanger, Jamie was ordered to hunt down his godfather for the British, and that’ll be a major source of conflict.
“For me, it's the most fun and interesting storyline to see Jamie pitched against his godfather,” Heughan told TV Insider. “Inside, Jamie is still the Highland warrior — you see flashes of that — but he's a military man now, so it's a new style of fighting. There's a cannon and muskets and pistols.”
Those who don’t get tickets to the 92Y panel will have to wait for “Outlander” Season 5 to premiere on Sunday, Feb. 16 on Starz.
