“How I Met Your Mother” might have aired its series finale on March 31 but that hasn’t deterred fans from keeping the hit CBS show at the center of every conversation. That’s why we weren’t exactly surprised when a curious fan asked Bob Saget for his opinion on the controversial ending during the comedian's guest appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
The final scene of “Last Forever” ended with Ted chasing after Robin six years after his wife’s death. It was heartbreaking and romantic at the same time, which is probably why reviews of the show ranged from contentment to fury.
“I loved it,” Saget predictably replied about the show he’s been a part of since 2005. “I was there with my oldest daughter at the reading, so I knew what it was.”
For those who don’t know, Saget narrated the long-running series and portrayed the role of future-Ted. Saget’s voice became an iconic staple for the comedy and because of that some fans were disappointed when his character didn’t appear in the last episode of “HIMYM.”
“I knew that Josh was narrating it,” Saget revealed. “Some people said that he should have turned into me, but it wasn't ‘The Matrix.’ I loved the show and I thought that they did a really beautiful job. So, that’s my opinion”
We’ll give Saget the benefit of the doubt that he truthfully answered the question seeing as this man has practically no filter! “I spotted during it. I forget to say that,” he superfluously added.
