How Kim Kardashian Reacted To Kanye West Meeting With President-Elect Donald Trump: Report
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian knew that her husband, rapper Kanye West, was going to meet with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Towers in New York City Tuesday. The reality star-turned-recluse “respects her husband,” an insider told Us Weekly.
“Kim knew Kanye was coming on this trip. She’s not surprised by this,” a source told the publication Tuesday. “Kim knew that Kanye supported Trump before this. Kim and Kanye definitely differ on their opinions — obviously, she voted for Hillary.”
Before his hospitalization last month, West voiced his support for Trump. “Kanye respects the idea that Trump was able to speak to a group of people in the country that had been largely forgotten by the media,” an insider said. “He looks at Trump as a celebrity who is able to influence the greatest office in the world, not as a politician.”
The source added: “Kanye believes celebrities can be more powerful than our politicians. Just because the internet or the media is framing something in one way — like Hillary [Clinton] winning the election — doesn’t always mean that that’s a representation of what’s going on in reality.”
It should be noted that Trump, 70, said Kim was “a bit large” and called Khloé a “piglet” and the“ugly Kardashian.”
Kardashian, 36, and West, 39, are reportedly going through a tough time. “Kanye and Kim had a stressful few months,” an insider told People Magazine Wednesday. “It’s been a tense time.”
Even though rumors swirled the couple might head toward divorce, Kardashian’s best friend, Jonathan Cheban, laughed them off. “They’re in good spirits,” he told E! Online Wednesday about West and Kardashian. “I don't want to talk much about them because it's not my business but I do have to say that the divorcing is kind of hysterical, that I will mention, because I just spoke to both of them on FaceTime literally before I was coming here and when I heard that I literally burst out laughing.”
