Prince William was dubbed as “Basher Wills” when he was still very young because he was not afraid to get into a few scrapes. The dad of three was also described as a daredevil because he got into all sorts of mischief.

But several decades ago, the Duke of Cambridge made headlines after becoming the youngest member of the royal family to break one protocol. He was the first royal youngster to attend a public nursery.

In the documentary “Prince William at Thirty,” narrator Suranne Jones said that at that time, the public interest on the adorable young boy was at an all-time high. As such, Prince William was forced to face the paparazzi during his first day at Mrs. Mynors’ Montessori.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl talked about the video of Kate Middleton’s husband arriving in school with Princess Diana in tow. Before walking inside the Montessori, it was evident that Prince William looked scared and confused. He also clung on to this late mother.

But after a few minutes, royal expert Dickie Arbiter said that Prince William glanced at the photographers briefly before he walked off.

Princess Diana’s former protection officer, Ken Wharfe, recounted that time. He said that when they arrived at Prince William’s school, there were approximately 80 to 100 people waiting outside.

“I remember Diana saying ‘Now William you have to be careful now because when you go to school, there are lots of photographers and press’ and he turned around just underneath the picketer’s hat, and he said ‘I don’t like ‘tographers,’” Wharfe said.

And by the looks of it, Prince William’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte, inherited the same mindset when it comes to photographers. Last year, the 4-year-old was spotted mouthing stern words at the photographers who were waiting outside during Prince Louis’ christening.

Princess Charlotte reportedly told the group of photographers that they weren’t invited to her younger brother’s baptism. But this statement didn’t offend them.
