Princess Diana’s fashion changed after her divorce from Prince Charles.

On the online forum Quora, one netizen asked if there were changes in Princess Diana’s fashion after she left the royal family. According to a number of netizens, there was a huge change in the Princess of Wales’ life when she was finally free from her unhappy marriage with Prince Charles.

“Diana got fit, healthy, and happy. Having met and fallen in love with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan, she dumped all the frilly, flouncy styles and dressed in much simpler, plainer outfits,” Sally Smythe, an avid reader of royal biographies, wrote.

She added that Princess Diana got over her bulimia and was maintaining a healthy weight. Smythe said that Princess Diana dropped her “fairytale princess look” and became a single, divorced and very grown-up woman.

Mrinalini Bondyopadhyay shared the same observation. According to her, Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom got rid of all the “sugary, frilly and princess-y proper” after her split from Prince Charles and embraced a bold and mature style.

“She adopted sleek silhouettes in strong colours, a shorter hairstyle, shorter hemlines and bolder necklines. She still made great use of her jewels,” she added.

Just like Princess Diana, there were huge changes in Sarah Ferguson after her divorce from Prince Andrew, particularly in her makeup. Ariane Poole, the founder of Ariane Poole Cosmetics and an international makeup artist to the stars, shared how the Duchess of Your’s glam changed over the years.

Poole pointed out how Ferguson shifted the amount and boldness of her makeup before, during and after her divorce from the Duke of York. The expert added that for her, Ferguson looks better today than ever.

In related news, Princess Diana confessed that she turned to Queen Elizabeth II in her last attempt to save her rocky marriage with Prince Charles. However, the monarch only told her that she didn’t know what to do after Princess Diana asked Her Majesty what she could do for her marriage with Prince Charles.

Queen Elizabeth II didn’t approve of Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. However, it has been decades since it happened, the Queen and Camilla are now okay and share a warm relationship.
