How The Season 25 ‘DWTS’ Teams Prepared For Week 6 ‘Movie Night’
The competition is only beginning to get more intense as Season 25 of “Dancing With the Stars” continues, and with the remaining nine teams heading into week six, everyone is preparing to raise the stakes when it comes to their routines.
Another pair will be eliminated from the ABC series at the end of Week 6 competition, which will see the teams perform routines that are inspired by specific movie genres as a part of the night’s overall theme of “A Night at the Movies.” However, no matter what success they may have by pulling off an impressive routine this week, whichever team received the lowest combined total of judge’s scores and viewer votes during Week 5’s “Disney night” will be sent home.
However, prior to that, the teams are focused on putting out the best possible routines they can. Here’s how they spent the weekend rehearsing:
Team Fish Upon A Star
After finally achieving perfection in the ballroom during “Disney Night,” Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold have likely been hard at work and making sure that they repeat their scores during their drama movie themed Rumba this week. While Jordan didn’t share any updates about the routine to social media, Lindsay took to Instagram to share a few images of the two posing for promo photos in the studio, joking that it was hard for them to keep straight faces together.
Team STARK
Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas are looking to get their first perfect scores of the competition, and will likely hope to do so by pulling off one of their most creative numbers yet with a Sci-Fi themed Argentine Tango. In a post on Instagram, Lindsey shared a peek at the number, showing herself and two female troop dancers bent at bizarre angles as Mark stands behind them and watches.
Team ViVa
Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy seem prepared to bring it with their Sports movie themed Paso Doble. Victoria took to Instagram to share a series of photos of herself and Val, as they posed wearing hockey gear.
However, it appears that may not be the only sport they incorporate into their routine. Though bit’s unclear if it helped them prepare for the routine or if they were just having fun, Val shared a photo of them after they went head-to-head in a swimming match-up. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t go very well.
Team Smackdown
Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev seem ready for their Foreign film themed Argentine Tango, with Nikki letting slip in an Instagram post that their dance might be themed entirely after “a night in Paris.”
Team Hot Property
Drew Scott and Emma Slater seemed ready to fully embrace their Action movie theme based on a post to the reality star’s Instagram, which features both in “Rambo” style costumes.
Team Getcha Popcorn
While Terrell Owens continues keeping his current routines off of social media, partner Cheryl Burke couldn’t help but have some fun with their Spy movie theme in one post. In the animated clip, as she and Terrell practice their jive, a framed photo of head judge Len Goodman sits in the background. Cheryl teased in the photo’s caption that he was the spy and was “always watching” them.
In a second post, Cheryl and Terrell both seemed to be posing in front of the same green screen that the rest of their fellow cast members have, as they strike cool poses indicating their status as spies.
Team Babies And Ballroom
Being near the bottom of the leaderboard for the first time isn’t sitting well with Vanessa Lachey and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and the pro dancer took to social media to make sure everyone knew they were hard at work on their Musical themed Quickstep, and that he believed it would be the best dance Vanessa had done.
Team Mom And Pops
Nick Lachey and Peta Murgatroyd are definitely getting ready for their Western movie themed routine, and in a post on social media, the singer and his partner are ready to go with their time period appropriate costumes.
It will be especially interesting to see how their routine, a Samba, goes, not only because they have been at the bottom of the leaderboard for the last few weeks, but because Nick’s brother, Drew, the Season 2 champion, famously performed a Western themed freestyle during his season’s finals, which is still one of the series’ more memorable routines.
Neither Frankie Muniz nor Witney Carson took to social media with updates about their new routine, which means fans will just have to wait until the show airs for a look at Team Frannie Pack’s animation themed Jazz routine.
“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
