'Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1' Tickets On Sale Oct. 29; Where To Buy Tickets Before Nov. 21 Premiere
If you’re one of the many dying to see the penultimate film in the “Hunger Games” franchise, now is your chance to get proactive. Starting Wednesday, tickets for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” go on sale.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fandango and MovieTickets.com will give fans the chance to buy their tickets three weeks before the film hits theaters on Nov. 21. But, that’s not all - Fandango is offering one lucky winner the chance to attend the world premiere in London. Anyone who purchases a ticket within the first 24 hours will be entered for a chance to win. (Now that's a reaping we can get behind!)
"Mockingjay" will be the third installment in the series based on the young adult books by Suzanne Collins. The 2013 film, "Catching Fire," released tickets ahead of the premiere as well in a shockingly successful campaign. Business Insider reports that "Catching Fire" outpaced current releases at the time by 8-1, making up 70 percent of the sales on Fandango.
The sequel ended with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) being separated from her fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). She discovered that an uprising had begun against the Capitol, led by District 13. "Mockingjay" will see Katniss acting as the symbol for this uprising as she fights to free the citizens of Panem and rescue Peeta. This time around, heavy hitters like Julianne Moore and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman will help round out the cast.
Tickets go on sale Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. PT and 12 p.m. ET at Fandango and MovieTickets.com. In the meantime, you can watch the Mockingjay trailer again and again… and again.
