Iggy Azalea Sued For Not Paying $300,000 Credit Card Bill
Iggy Azalea is having financial problems.
American Express is reportedly suing the "Fancy" rapper after failing to pay her credit card debt, which amounted to almost $300,000. The legal documents obtained by E! News stated that Azalea, whose real name is Amethyst Kelly, owes the bank exactly $299,147.81.
According to American Express, the debt is $250,000 more than the limit of her card, which was issued to her two years ago. As of now, Azalea has not yet commented on the lawsuit and her financial woes.
This is not the first time that Azalea's finances were questioned. Back in April 2016, she faced a hefty tax lien from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for her unpaid taxes from 2014. According to the court document, it was a big year for the performer and she owed the IRS $391,056.55. However, the rapper believed that those reports were just released because of her issues with her ex, Nick Young.
"Peep the way when one thing happens media scrambles to keep adding on to the storyline, like a soap opera," Azalea wrote on Twitter. "They exaggerate everything. the IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt?. But its funny to me because made the deal like 2 months ago but they are trying to make it into something now because...they were hoping some more nick mess would happen and now that it hasnt and its getting boring they need 2 create something else."
In a series of tweets, Azalea said that those reports were not accurate and even joked that she's ready for "another season of the Iggy novela." The rapper didn't think that those reports were relevant. "It's like writing 'Iggy pays a mortgage on her house every month!' and trying to make it a story. It's not a story," she wrote in another tweet.
In related news, back in June, Azalea stunned the 2017 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards when she showed up in a sexy pink tie-up dress. Her revealing dress showed off her curves and sexy legs. The rapper appeared to have been very happy and proud of her ensemble as she even shared it on Instagram and thanked her designer.
