iPhone 12: Pre-Order, Other Details Revealed In Leaked Email
KEY POINTS
- Apple recently announced that it is holding an event on September 15
- The Cupertino company has not yet confirmed the launch date of the iPhone 12
- An alleged promotional email bearing pre-order and other iPhone 12 details was just leaked online
A leaked image displaying the alleged iPhone 12 promo email seemingly revealed key details about the flagship iPhone that fans are eager to know. Apple recently announced that it is hosting a virtual event on September 15. Despite this, some fans are still skeptical if the Cupertino company would launch the iPhone 12 lineup at the said event.
The alleged Apple promotional email is courtesy of the reliable industry insider Evan Blass. The said email appeared to have been made as a placeholder of one of the launch carrier partners of Apple. Based on the leaked image, it looks like all new iPhone 12 models would support 5G connectivity.
Additionally, the alleged promotional email reveals that iPhone 12 pre-orders would end on October 20. Based on the company’s release pattern, it opened pre-orders for iPhone 11 on September 13 with models available starting September 20. It is safe to speculate that Apple might launch the iPhone 12 on October 10, open pre-orders on October 13 and end on October 20.
Another notable thing about this alleged promotional email is that it does not mention any iPhone 12 models. Moreover, it does not specify the carrier that sent this promo. A few days ago, the Taiwan-based publication Digitimes claimed that Apple might first release the iPhone 12 Max and the iPhone 12 Pro ahead of other models. The report based its claim on the shipment of SLP motherboards for the said iPhone 12 models.
The leaked iPhone 12 promotional email aligns with the schedule insider Jon Prosser shared a few weeks ago. According to him, the iPhone 12 shipment would start in the week commencing October 19. Apple already confirmed that the launch of this year’s flagship iPhones might see a little delay.
Delays in the release and launch of various products in the market are already expected this year. During the first quarter of 2020, several tech facilities in China were temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Apple is among these companies affected by this particular issue.
It is worth mentioning that while these details about the iPhone 12 are exciting, these are not official. In this case, it is wiser to take this information with a good measure of skepticism.
