Jake Paul, Zayn Malik And Gigi Hadid's Twitter Feud Explained

Drama broke out on Twitter yesterday when controversial YouTuber Jake Paul apparently approached One Direction’s Zayn Malik and the two butted heads. Twitter users got a glimpse of what happened when Paul took to the social media platform to tweet about his experience -- drama ensued.

“almost had to clap up zane from 1 direction because he is a little guy and has an attitude and basically told me to [expletive] off for no reason when I was being nice to him [sic],” Paul said in the now-deleted tweet. “Zane ik you’re reading this… stop being angry cause u came home alone to ur big [expletive] hotel room. [sic]”

TMZ details what allegedly happened that night that led to this Tweet, noting that the two parties, Malik and Paul, have conflicting recollections of what happened at the Las Vegas hotel they were both staying at. When Jake made his way to his hotel room, he spotted Malik exit the elevator and asked if they were partying. Apparently, Malik responded rudely, saying, "IDGAF [sic] if you have a good night."

Later, the two encountered each other yet again and Malik said to Paul, "Who the [expletive] do you think you are?" Malik apparently asked Paul if he wanted to “test” him.

It didn’t escalate far beyond that, but that’s when Paul posted his tweet. The tweet earned the attention of Malik’s girlfriend, supermodel Gigi Hadid, who responded:

“Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies ..? Home alone with his best friends like a respectful king cause he has me, sweetie. Unbothered by your irrelevant ugly [expletive]. Go to bed …[sic]”

After Paul deleted his original Tweet, he tweeted out: “someone needs to take my phone when i’m drunk because I am a [expletive] idiot.” The 23-year-old YouTuber cited that alcohol had a lot to do with what happened that night, saying that both him and Malik were drinking quite a bit.

On the other side of things, sources who were with Malik claim that he did absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, there was no mention of Malik drinking any alcohol at all, but rather the evidently drunk Paul was being abrasive, continuously bothering the English singer and songwriter to go party with him and his friends. After Malik turning him down several times, things escalated.

While it doesn’t appear that either party apologized to one another, the short-lived feud has died down.
