Jana Duggar Courtship Dreams For Twin Brother Revealed, Wants Wife To Be Her ‘Best Friend’

Jana Duggar wants a friend in her twin brother’s future partner. The “Counting On” star shared during the recent episode of the TLC series that she considers it important that she get along with whoever her twin brother, John-David Duggar, decides to spend his life with.

“Being John’s twin I think it’s really important, or at least to me. I’m like I really want to be in on this and knowing that he’s going to get a good girl,” Jana said in the Season 2 installment, adding that she hopes the woman and her will be “best friends.” “I think that is something that is kind of important to me,” she said.

While John-David, 26, didn’t talk about his twin sister’s role in any potential relationship he may have, he did share with the cameras his idea about courtship. The part-time police officer, and third oldest of the Duggar clan, said he has some courtship standards in mind. “It will definitely be a discussion between me and the girl,” he said.

When it comes to finding his perfect woman, it seems Jana knows just what her brother is looking for. When John was grilled about his preferences, he said he’s interested in someone who is neither shy nor too outgoing (Jana said an outgoing woman is more his type), and a county girl. Jana said John would like someone who has a good sense of humor and good sense of style and he agreed. The only point they disagreed on was whether or not the woman would be talkative, with John David saying he would prefer a quieter individual.

While Jana did not discuss her own love life in the “Counting On” episode, she has previously touched on her plans for the future on the show. In Season 1, she had troubling imaging her life five years down the line but said she did hope to find love.

“There have been different guys who have come along and asked, but they haven’t been, I don’t know, the right one. It can be tempting, like, ‘Oh, I really want to be married,’ because in those moments, your siblings that are married and have little ones are going on dates and doing their thing. It’s like this weird in-between stage. I’m not a younger one, but I’m not an older, married one with kids.”

Like her brother, Jana has never been in an official courtship, though she has been linked to several men. In the past few years Jana was speculated to have dated former NFL star Tim Tebow, a report which she denied, and “Bringing Up Bates” star Zach Bates.
