Jana Kramer Vows To ‘Fight Through’ Injury In ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 2
We’re just one week into Season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars” and injuries are running rampant among members of the cast. Ryan Lochte was injured during the premiere when protesters stormed the stage and now competitor Jana Kramer is battling an issue of her own.
On Instagram on Thursday, the actress shared a photo of her and partner Gleb Savchenko preparing for week two of the ABC competition series. She revealed in the caption that she was battling with a sprained rib muscle, but wasn’t going to let it hold her back. She then posted a picture of her bonding with her infant daughter in the studio. Both were all smiles despite the injury. It remains unclear how the sprain will affect her and her partner’s performance.
Jana made her “DWTS” debut alongside her Season 23 castmates on Monday. During her introductory video, she revealed that she had been through a lot in 2016 and was hoping that participating in the show would serve as a fresh start. The trials and tribulations she’s referring to were directly related to her split from husband Mike Caussin. The pair announced their separation in August, shocking fans. Despite the drama in her personal life, Jana and Gleb were able to pull off an extremely sexy cha cha routine. The judges were wowed by both their moves and their chemistry.
The pair are definitely going to be a team to look out for as the competition moves forward. Ahead of the Sept. 12 premiere, International Business Times ranked them among the top contenders for the mirror ball trophy. Jana’s background in music proves she has a rhythmic leg up on some of her competitors. Pair that with her pro partner's talent and abilities and you’ve got a recipe for danger.
“DWTS” returns to ABC on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. The show will serve as the last chance for teams to show off their dancing chops before facing elimination on Tuesday.
