Jane Lynch Hosting Emmy Says 'I hope no One Cringes'
Jane Lynch, American comedienne, actress and singer will host this year’s Emmy Awards which is due on Sept. 18 on Fox.
Lynch is looking forward for the live hosting of the show, with a little bit of "excitement, anticipation and a fear".
“My goal is that no one will cringe, or that very few people will cringe,” Lynch told USA Today.
Lynch has her own role models for hosting shows, she said: "I loved the way Billy Crystal hosted the Oscars, and Jimmy Fallon was just delightful last year" at the
Emmys.
"I didn't realize at the time I was watching him to see how I'd do it next year."
But fans are hoping to see her alter ego, Glee's irascible cheer leading coach Sue Sylvester a lot.
“There are some ideas out there for Sue Sylvester, but I think we’ll probably leave her tracksuit at the Paramount lot,” Lynch said.
First-time Emmys executive producer Mark Burnett also agreed to Lynch and said, “If there’s any nod to Sue, it’ll be very very minor". Mark also helmed the MTV Movie Awards.
Lynch has played the role of Sue Sylvester in the Fox musical-comedy series "Glee" since 2009. She has also won an Emmy award and a Golden Globe Award for her Sue Sylvester.
