'Jane The Virgin' Season 3 Spoilers: What Is Eva Longoria's Role Next Season?
Exciting things are in store for “Jane the Virgin” Season 3, especially now that “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria has joined the show as its director.
The news was revealed by Jamie Camil, the actor who plays Jane’s lovable dad Rogelio Dela Vega, on his Instagram account (@jamiecamil).
Camil posted a photo of a “Check In” sign at the fictional Marbella Hotel, with Longoria’s name written on a card beside it. “Guess who is checking into the Marbella Hotel this Season? #JaneTheVirgin,” he captioned the photo.
According to TV Line, Longoria is slated to direct the next season’s third episode. The actress might even make a surprise appearance in the episode, but nothing is confirmed at this point.
One thing “Jane the Virgin” fans desperately want to know is whether or not Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) survived the shooting incident in the Season 2 finale, which took place during his wedding night with Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez).
Showrunner and creator Jennie Snyder Urman urged fans to be patient while waiting to confirm Michael’s true condition before jumping to any conclusions. “You’re going to have to wait until the third season to find out. You’ll find out right when we get back within the first act,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
If Camil was left in charge of the script, he would definitely let Michael survive so Rogelio and his new son-in-law can continue their blooming bromance.
“Because, you know, Rogelio was devastated when Michael got shot. I'm like, 'I cannot go on with life, so what's going to happen?’” he told Pop Sugar. “I just hope that Michael gets better… that this gunshot doesn't transform into a horrible ending, which I don't even want to think about. But let's see what happens!”
“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
