‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 4 Spoilers: Creator Teases ‘Very Dramatic’ Childbirth
Things heated up in “Jane the Virgin” Season 4 when sparks flew between Rogelio De La Vega’s (Jaimie Camil) baby mama Darci Factor (Justina Mechado) and his rival, Esteban Santiago (Keller Wortham).
Rogelio has been trying his best to be supportive of Darci, especially since his wife, Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo), said it’s important for him to maintain a good relationship with her for the sake of their baby.
Despite Darci’s unpleasant attitude and constant criticisms, Rogelio managed to grin and bear the insults. But seeing Esteban again is probably going to send him into a tailspin.
As a result, show creator and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman told TV Line that the birth of Rogelio and Darci’s daughter will be “very dramatic.” She added, “The baby goes unnamed for a quite a while before they settle on something. They try out many names.”
Urman already discussed this childbirth before with Entertainment Weekly, and she teased that their complicated relationship will actually work out beautifully.
“The Darci-Rogelio situation has a lot of twists and turns and it’s one of the arcs that I’m most excited about. She makes a surprising connection with someone from his telenovela world that starts to upset him and when the baby is born, it’s a beautiful set piece that I don’t want to spoil, but it’s a different kind of birth than we’ve seen,” Urman said.
Whatever the case, fans can be assured of one thing - seeing Rogelio come to terms with his reality is going to be hilarious to watch.
“Season 4 is gonna be a big one for me because, as you saw in the season finale of Season 3, Darci ended up pregnant. So it’s gonna be a fun one for Rogelio. He’s gonna have a kid, a girl, and it’s gonna be messy for him,” Camil earlier shared with Elite Daily. “But at the same time any time it gets messy for Rogelio, it gets funny for the audience.”
“Jane the Virgin” Season 4 will return on Oct. 13. at 9 p.m. EST.
