Jeffree Star has apologized to fellow YouTube star James Charles and addressed the drama revolving around them, Tati Westbrook and Shane Dawson.

In a clip titled “Doing What’s Right,” Star, while seated on a gold couch wearing a pink robe, spoke about the controversies hounding the YouTube beauty community, revealing that he had done self-reflection during his long break. He began by explaining that he used to speak out his frustrations and emotions and that it was easy for him to say anything he wanted without thinking of the ramifications of his actions, Entertainment Tonight reported.

"For the first time in a very long time, I’m really reflecting on my behavior and mine alone. I’ve come to a lot of realizations and it’s been really important to actually understand everything I was a part of, what I did wrong and really start a new chapter for myself,” Star said in the 10-minute video uploaded Saturday.

The makeup mogul shared that he knows fans have been waiting for him to come out with explanations countering Westbrook’s allegations that he and Dawson manipulated her into lambasting Charles last year in an explosive video. But Star said his lawyers “are entertaining it behind the scenes, but I will not be.”

"I know this may sound shocking, coming from my mouth, but when you accept that you are the problem, you can become the solution,” Star shared.

The Jeffree Star Cosmetics founder went on to say that he didn’t intend to take down a person, adding that he is “not a villain in a movie.” Star also said that a lot of the things circulating about him are false before apologizing to Charles for not reaching out to him last year and hearing him out.

“If I was really close with someone, I should have had the ability to simply call them and ask and say, ‘Hey these are the things that are being said to me.’ Instead, I didn’t. I let people really gas me up and get me going behind the scenes and I really fell for a lot of things and I got really caught up in the hype. It’s disgusting, it’s awful, and none of it should have happened,” Star said.

In the video, Star also the controversy surrounding Dawson, who was recently called out by Jada Pinkett Smith and son Jaden Smith over an old video of showing him pretending to masturbate while staring at a poster of Willow Smith when she was only 11 resurfaced.

“I know Shane from now. I don’t know Shane from 10 years ago, and he doesn’t know me from 10 years ago,” Star continued. “Now do I agree with Shane’s past actions? Of course, I don’t. And does he agree with my past behavior? Of course, he doesn’t. I know the amazing person that he is today and you don’t abandon your friends.”

Jeffree’s clip, which has garnered over 7.5 million views and 280,000 dislikes, comes a few weeks after Westbrook also released a video on her channel addressing her allegations against Charles.

Last year, she accused Charles of coercing men into sexual acts and using his fame and money to “threaten,” “ruin” and “embarrass” men who didn’t reciprocate his advances.
