Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, 27, gave birth to a boy on Monday, Hudson's publicist Lisa Kasteler said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Oscar winning actress named her son David Daniel Otunga Jr after actor David Otunga to whom Hudson has been engaged for about one year. The baby weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces.

The boy is beautiful and perfect, Kasteler said. His parents are ecstatic, she added according to Reuters.

Hudson never announced her pregnancy and just showed up at a recent concert clearly pregnant.
