Jennifer Lawrence and pal Amy Schumer joined thousands over the weekend in a march for abortion rights.
Lawrence, who is expecting her first baby with husband Cooke Maroney, put her growing baby bump on display at the Rally for Abortion Justice Saturday. The rallies were organized across the country by Women's March and Planned Parenthood to protest the extreme abortion laws and restrictions being brought into place.
Schumer took to her Instagram to share a photo of them at the march. In the snap, the "Hunger Games" star, who wore a checkered dress and denim jacket, held a sign that read, "Women can't be free if they don't control their bodies."
Schumer posed next to her with a poster that stated, "Abortion is essential."
"I don’t have a uterus and she is pregnant but we out here @womensmarch @plannedparenthood #rallyforabortionjustice," the "Trainwreck" actress captioned the image, referencing her recent surgery to have her appendix and uterus removed due to endometriosis.
The marches for abortion rights were organized in response to Texas enacting Senate Bill 8, according to Page Six. The law bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy with no exceptions for incest or rape.
Celebrities and fans praised Lawrence and Schumer in the comments section.
Sharon Stone commented "BRAVA," while Kate Hudson left a string of heart emojis.
"This is perfect," Liz Plank commented. "March for my ovaries!" Ali Wentworth added.
"Agree. It's between patient and doctor, no one else," another Instagram user wrote.
The 40-year-old comedian's outing with Lawrence came a month after she announced that she had her uterus and appendix removed because of the toll endometriosis has taken on her body.
"It’s the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and my uterus is out," Schumer said in a clip posted to her Instagram. "The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked."
She continued, "There was a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m sore and I have some gas pains, but other than that I already feel that my energy."
Schumer also shared a selfie of herself in her hospital gown. "If you have really painful periods you may have #endometriosis," she wrote.
Meanwhile, Lawrence's rep confirmed her pregnancy last month. However, no additional details were provided, including how far along she was in her pregnancy.
Lawrence tied the knot with her art gallery director husband in October 2019.
