Jennifer Lopez And Casper Smart Break Up For The Second Time, Provide No Reason For Their Split
Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart have broken up for the second time.
According to a People magazine source, it was the singer’s decision to end things but there was no reason given. Of course, this isn’t the first time Lopez, 47, and Smart, 29, have parted ways since getting together 2011.
Reportedly, they first split in June 2014 after they simply grew apart. “They’ve definitely broken up,” said a source at that time. “The relationship has just run its course.”
Lopez also addressed the rumor that Smart’s cheating caused the breakup. “I’m used to the press saying things I [don’t] want them to say or that’s not true or all that kind of stuff,” she said on “The Breakfast Club” in 2014. “I don’t have to say whether he did or didn’t [cheat.]”
Then in June of 2015, it appeared the couple was back together when they were spotted spending time with each other, which Smart addressed in an interview with Extra. “If we have anything to announce, we will let everyone know,” he stated. “We’re just hanging out.”
Despite the off-and-on-again romance, there were still questions about whether the pair really ended things in 2014, or whether they faked it for one of Lopez’s movie roles. According to TMZ, the actress was getting ready to shoot her film “Boy Next Door” at the time and the studio thought if she appeared single, they could create romance rumors between herself and co-star Ryan Guzman.
Then in March, the former “American Idol” judge explained the multiple break ups with Smart on “The Wendy Williams Show”. “We broke up for a little bit. We’ve done that a couple of times,” she said. “It’s like ‘Bye,’ then we get back together and then ‘Hi.’”
As far as their most recent breakup, People reports the couple split weeks ago, but there’s currently no bad blood between them. “It wasn’t anything dramatic, and they were on good terms,” said the insider. “They will remain friends and see each other but they are not together. It was very amiable.”
