Jennifer Lopez Details How Ben Affleck Proposed To Her: 'Was The Most Romantic Thing'
Jennifer Lopez has dropped new details about her engagement to Ben Affleck.
The pop superstar revealed Friday she and Affleck were engaged, 18 years after they had called off their engagement in 2004. In the latest edition of her “On the JLo” newsletter, Lopez revealed how Affleck proposed to her and talked about their second shot at love. In the article, the singer wrote the proposal was “nothing fancy at all,” but it was the most romantic thing ever.
“Did you ever imagine your biggest dream come true?” she mentioned. “Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.”
Lopez wrote she was smiling so big, and before she knew it, tears were already rolling down her cheeks. She also said the proposal made her feel “so incredibly happy and whole.”
“It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could have ever imagined. Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.”
In a video accompanying the newsletter, a teary-eyed Lopez said Affleck’s proposal was totally unexpected. “I’m engaged!,” she gushed. “It was totally unexpected. My love came in, Ben came in and he got down on one knee and he said some things that I’ll never forget and he pulled out a ring and he said, ‘Will you marry me?’ And it was the most perfect moment.”
Lopez also flaunted her green diamond engagement ring with a close-up of the jewelry, which she said means a lot to her.
“Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be,” she said.
