Months after announcing their split, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez have made their spilt official, with Anthony filling for divorce Monday last.
The Latin singer filed his divorce petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences as cause for the separation.
TMZ said that Anthony placed an appeal to relieve him of spousal support, should it be requested from his estranged wife. Anthony is also said to be seeking joint custody of the couple's four-year-old twins Max and Emme.
Though the couple announced the end of their union nearly a year ago in July, Anthony, 43, has not made clear of the specific date he and Lopez, 42 separated in the petition.
We have decided to end our marriage, the couple was quoted saying to Access Hollywood at the time of the separation. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusions on all matters.
In spite of their separation going official, Anthony and Lopez , who have been married for seven years, continue to share a warm working relationship with each other. The pair was even seen reuniting briefly while promoting their reality competition show Q'Viva! in January.
According to a report on Digital Spy, Anthony and Lopez will reunite for a live duet the two will perform for their show at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre in Las Vegas on May 26.
Although the two have reportedly parted ways on amicable terms, with both moving on to having other love interests, Anthony doesn't seem to approve of Lopez's toy boy, Casper Smart, Us Magazine said. According to the report, the singer had apparently flipped after discovering the heavy duty bonding between his children and Smart.
Anthony has begun dating model Shannon de Lima, who he's been seeing since January this year.
Meanwhile, here's a look at some of the best moments of the former couple throughout the years.
